LogiMAT China—the International Trade Show for Intralogistics Solutions and Process Management—returned after three difficult years for a successful relaunch at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, June 14–16, 2023. A unique platform for intralogistics solutions, the three-day event drew a total of 19,545 industry professionals.

Tomorrow’s industry today

The theme of LogiMAT China 2023 was “Hands-On Innovation: Connecting Smart Networks,” and exhibitors highlighted recent industry changes while anticipating the next round of changes to come. One key focus was how to spur economic recovery, cut costs, boost efficiency, and enhance competitiveness through safe, efficient, sustainable intralogistics processes. The role of forklift trucks in the hydrogen economy was a core topic.

LogiMAT China 2023 highlighted the technology and solutions needed for warehousing and process management in such key industries as industrial manufacturing, electronics, petrochemicals, alternative energy vehicles, food and beverage, airport and port management, express shipping, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, clothing and footwear, furniture and household goods, and e-commerce. Exhibitors brought along cutting-edge technology and products, from electric forklifts and AGVs to IoT solutions. LogiMAT China presents an exciting fusion of intralogistics and technological innovation.

Another focus of LogiMAT China 2023 was on new trends in intralogistics services, new approaches to cost optimization, and innovative concepts such as green, low-carbon digital intelligence technology. All exhibitors presented unique solutions and reveled in the opportunity to interact directly with their current and future customers.

• BlueSword showcased its complete suite of AGV products and end-to-end process management systems (RCS, WMS, WCS, etc.). BlueSword’s AGV products are widely used in such diverse industries as renewable energy, smart manufacturing, petrochemicals, tobacco, pharmaceuticals, electricity, FMCG, chemicals, and logistics.

• AGILOX unveiled its new AMRs AGILOX ONE, AGILOX OCF, and AGILOX ODM.

• HC Robotics, a pioneer in high-speed three-dimensional smart storage, brought its latest innovative solutions to LogiMAT China 2023.

• The Houng Fuh Group, an established player in the automation industry for nearly 40 years, presented its new high-efficiency sorting system, capable of handling 10,000 pieces an hour, along with other advanced intralogistics solutions to help enterprises sort goods in the factory and streamline production.

• ForwardX Robotics, Asia’s largest person-to-goods AMR solutions provider, brought its fourth- generation Flex, Max, and Apex Series AMRs to LogiMAT China 2023.

• Megvii presented answers to such important questions as how to save energy in the cold storage chain, how to safely and efficiently store raw materials for renewable energy production, and how to optimize warehouse capacities.

A new direction for intralogistics in the 5G era

LogiMAT China’s forums are popular throughout the industry. Cross-system interconnectivity and intelligence will become the new benchmark for intralogistics systems in today’s era of innovation. The theme of the main forum at LogiMAT China was “the new direction of intralogistics in the 5G era,” featuring cutting-edge technologies and new approaches. Peter Kazander, Managing Director of LogiMAT International, returned to China after three years to meet with the majority of exhibitors. The Board of the Thai Intralogistics Association offered an overview of intralogistics in Southeast Asia. Senior executives from HC Robotics, Omlox China, ReliableSense Technologies, and MOKO Technology also presented.

Dr. Weijia Tan, Deputy Secretary General of Shenzhen Robotics Association, hosted the Sino-Euro Logistics Robot Technology Exchange Seminar and delivered the opening remarks. The senior executives from Agilox, Galaxis Tech, Megvii, and Multiway Robotics all gave presentations.

Hydrogen is becoming a popular alternative source of clean and efficient energy for its flexibility, low-carbon footprint, and wide range of potential applications. Industrial vehicles and mobile robots running on hydrogen fuel cell technology—boasting zero local emissions, rapid hydrogenation, stability, versatility, and a broad power range—have established themselves as commercially viable in many countries. The forum “Application of Hydrogen Fuel Cell Technology in Industrial Trucks and Mobile Robotics” featured senior technical engineers and executives from the Hangcha Group, Efficient Power, Guangdong Himalaya Hydrogen Technology, Sunrise Power, and the ICE Research & Industrial Trucks Institute of HELI Technical Center.
